Gold for Chinooks United 2008 in Kalispell

The Chinooks United 2008 team embarked on an unforgettable road trip to Kalispell, Montana, to participate in the prestigious 3 Blind Refs Tournament. This flagship event, hosted by Flathead Valley United, featured over 180 teams from Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Canada.

Competing in the Boys U16 Gold bracket, Chinooks United 2008 faced tough teams from Montana and Idaho. They started strong with two consecutive victories, topping the standings in the league section and earning a bye straight to the semi-finals. A narrow 2-1 win in the semi-finals set up a gold medal match against Timbers-Thorns FC from Idaho. Despite conceding the first goal, the team rallied to secure a 3-1 victory with a solid performance.

Coaches Gough and Nardella praised the team’s exceptional performance and execution of game plans. The meticulous tournament planning and logistics were handled superbly by Manager Kelly Kirkwood, and the players received tremendous support from their parents and siblings.

The boys celebrated their gold medal win as proud representatives of their team, club, and country with a spirited rendition of “O Canada.” This historic victory is a lifelong memory for the players and their families and a proud moment for Chinooks FC.

Congratulations to Chinooks United 2008 on this remarkable achievement. The entire club is incredibly proud of you!
