Calgary Minor Soccer Association is making field space a priority in Calgary. Here’s a message from CMSA to all their member clubs.
Hello soccer community!
Thank you for a wonderful outdoor season which saw another record year of registrations. As we turn our sights to the indoor season, we want to highlight that the Calgary Municipal Elections are also happening this October.
This past year CMSA launched the Fields for Our Future campaign to highlight the need for more spaces for our kids to play. During this campaign we have met with a significant number of municipal candidates who have pledged their support to expand soccer facilities in the city.

We have been overwhelmed by all the support for soccer. This is the most profile our issues have EVER had in a municipal campaign and that’s thanks to you. But there is more to do. As municipal candidates come by your door over the coming weeks seeking your vote in the election, we ask that you engage with them and ask them the following questions on behalf of the Calgary’s soccer community:
- If elected, will you support the funding of more facilities for soccer?
- Will you advocate for city funding, partnerships, land, and grants to advance sports infrastructure projects?
- Will you support the streamlined approval processes for facility development projects?
If you do get the opportunity to speak to your local candidates, please write back to us and let us know how it went!

We thank you again for your continued support of soccer and look forward to seeing you on the field soon!
